Model for 3D printing of a block instrument base with interlocking box, as used in standardized mechanical interlocking (type Einheit) on German and Polish railways. The model contains parts to build a base for 16 interlocking sliders and 12 interlocking (block) shafts.

Parts are optimized for 3D printing in FFF technique (fused PLA or PETG filament). Recommended basic parameters of the printout:

  • layer height: 0.2 mm,
  • infill density: 20% (e.g. grid fill pattern),
  • selected parts may require printing with additional supports.

The model may require additional drilling patterns available as a separate download.

Attention!

Some parts might be slightly longer than a print area of typical 3D printer. In such case, parts can be rotated in the slicing software to be printed e.g. along the diagonal of the print area.

3D printing of longer parts

Longer parts may contract during printing (approx. 1 mm for 250 mm for PETG) – it is advised to print a test part, check the key dimensions with values provided in the manual and, if required, adjust the print size in the slicing software.
